Festivals and markets / Festival detail
Description
Toronto IFF is a non-competitive festival. A Czech film is regularly presented in the World Cinema section. The main reason to participate is the presence of American distributors. As the biggest festival on the American continent, it is of immense importance for European cinematography because this is where films selected for North American distribution. If a Czech film is selected for Toronto IFF, the producer or sales agent may apply for a Film Sales Support grant via European Film Production. The FSS program supports the promotion of European films beyond Europe, providing producers and sales agents funds for marketing costs related to promoting the film within the framework of seven non-European film festivals.
