Description
The Middle East International Film Festival will present a diverse slate of regional and International films, with an emphasis on emerging artists. Grand Jury Prize winners will receive production grants, awarded in the categories of documentary, narrative and short, funding the filmmaker's next project.
Official Competition
This section will present a taste of International cinema, with an emphasis on films by new filmmakers, competing for The Black Pearl. The section will include Fiction and Documentary films with Grand Jury Prizes offered in each category.
Short Film Competition
Short films from around the world star in a program demonstrating standout work from new filmmakers.
Middle East Spotlight
Films featuring the Middle East light up the screen in a program designed to celebrate the stories and people of the region. Films of all lengths and genres are accepted.
Bollywood Showcase
In celebration of the 60th Anniversary India's Independence, the Festival will exhibit a selection of these energetic and spectacular features.
Arab Women Directors
A retrospective in celebration of cinematic achievements of Arab women.
Hayah Film Competition
In the spirit of innovation and new technologies, this Competition has been developed for movies made under 5 minutes, and will be open to filmmakers throughout the UAE and Middle East region.
Special Presentations
A collection of high profile films premiering in the Middle East.
