Synopsis

An adaptation of the novella of the same name, 23 is a modern-day road movie. The story is set against a backdrop of sound systems and techno culture, which has become a major movement in the last decade, as exemplified by the popularity of the annual free technival Czechtek. In 2003, some 30,000 people from all over Europe congregated here, making it the Czech Republic’s biggest music festival of the year. In this adaptation, we move the story to the present: techno culture has waned a bit, like the electronic music scene in general. The heroes experience stronger emotions of detachment from society and of nostalgia.
