Synopsis
Gregory lives a contented life. His wife Eugenia doesn’t. After sixty years of marriage, 80-year-old Eugenia
approaches her granddaughter Kathy, a lawyer, to help her divorce her husband, 85-year-old Gregory. Kathy
is shocked by her grandmother’s decision, not to mention her obduracy and pertinacity. What must have
happened in her grandparents’ relationship that decades could not have smoothed over? Having no desire
to tear her beloved family apart, Kathy tries to get to the bottom of her grandmother’s decision. Although
she uncovers her family’s dramatic history, her grandparents’ secret remains a mystery. Faced with the
risk of losing her granddaughter and not wanting to pass the burden of ancient culpabilities on to the next
generation, Eugenia conceals the truth and tries to come to terms with the past. And Gregory? Can Kathy
protect him?
