Synopsis

Film as a panoptical probe into Czech national pride. A report about the contemporary image of the
“Snezka phenomenon.” Five years ago, dry rot destroyed the house on top of the Czech Republic’s
highest mountain, Snezka, situated on the border with Poland on land that used to be inhabited by ethnic
Germans. This sparked heated debates over the future plans for the location in connection with the Czech
national identity: What should represent our country on the peak of our highest mountain? The result is
surprising: The experimental house that can be adapted to suit changing weather conditions and has its
own ZIP code and a small halo has caused many problems and proven to be rather controversial.
