Synopsis
Every one of us has used the services of a public toilet more then once in our lifetimes. We go in, pay our 5 crowns and when we are finished, we leave. But who is that person we give the money to? Who is hidden behind the window through which we can hear "Pay up! Five crowns!".
This question was the impetus for the documentary 5 CZK. Marie, Tatiana and Olga are bathroom attendants. Socially speaking, it is at the bottom rung of the ladder of professions. Maybe to such an extent they aren't even people behind the window.
The main protagonists convince us otherwise. They show us that there are real people are on the other side, and they have real stories to tell. It may change our perspective the next time we fish in our pockets for our 5 CZK.
