Synopsis

A portrait of a contemporary Czech folk/rap/hip hop singing phenomenon and icon. Living in the poor industrial area of Northern Bohemia and coming from the "punk rock" alternative music movement of the 1980s, Xavier Baumaxa has become an indispensable character of the Czech contemporary music scene, combining slam poetry and rap with hard rock while concerting together with a group of violinists from the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. A story of how music can consume people and unify them across boundaries. A powerful and emotional story of an autodidakt singer & storyteller from a small village in Northern Bohemia reaching national fame and selling out the biggest concert halls all around the country. In his lyrics, he criticises the social relations and the current state of the Czech society.
