For this French-Czech coproduction, director Věra Cais adapted the Bohumil Hrabal's novel in a manner reminiscent of Jiří Menzel's interpretation. Philippe Noiret takes on the main role of Haňťa, an aging paper packer whose unique philosophy brings poetry to the raw activities of his daily life.
