Synopsis
A poetic mystery by Czech directing great Jan Němec. The director tells the story of a young Prague couple chosen by 'mysterious powers' to make the philosophers' stone. Ruby and Michal set out along the path of alchemy only to discover that the final missing ingredient is the love they share between them. This film makes use of both acted and purely artistic passages, and involves historical documents in an entirely original way.
