Synopsis
A poetically psychological Czech-German coproduction FROM Czech-born German resident Ivan Fíla. An embittered Bavarian furniture restorer puts in for property restitution in post-Velvet Revolution Slovakia. Finding resistance, he opts to persuade the local farmer to 'sell' him his foster daughter Lea in compensation. The girl is mute as the traumatic result of her mother's death. The motley pair eventually find shared moments in a spiritual relationship.
