Synopsis
Using new audiovisual possibilities, the filmmaker presents his virtual fantasy and personal experience of a journey between life and death. Images almost without words are shot predominantly with a standard 35 mm camera. What goes on in the conscious and subconscious mind of a person after being put under anesthesia for open-heart surgery? Is there a tunnel leading away from life? Is there a light at the end of that tunnel? And why precisely now has George Bush come to Prague? 'Before being put under I imagined I would see my whole life played backwards, but instead of that I suddenly... There's a tube in my mouth and I want to know: Am I in another world? Has the operation started? Is it in the middle? Is it over? How did it go? Is that all?' A powerless hand tries to grasp reality.
