Synopsis
The Shakespearean Actress is a fictionalized docudrama about Marilyn Monroe. Working with the suggestive atmosphere of Hollywood in the sixties, the film doesn´t allow the viewer to distinguish between fact and fiction. Sound and image postproduction modified the film´s footage to imitate sixties technology, and added original archive material. A screenplay, including the statesments of eye witnesses, was followed during the shooting og the entire film. Where does documentary end and drama begin? What should we believe and why?
