Synopsis
Film brut concerning three parts – Sudden Death, Offside, Back Pass
The primary inspiration for the film is to polemicize against the claim that the majority of material shot by amateur filmmakers is unusable dead weight. On the contrary, the goal was to let dead weight be actively created, to (not) work with it, and to thereby achieve a film in the raw, brutal state. The author approached three people who had never held a camera before with a simple assignment – to shoot for him the actual dead weight that surrounds them in their own lives. Not in the manner of an auto-portrait, but rather as an
offbeat look at their immediate surroundings through the camera’s viewfinder.
