The database provides information on Czech films from 1991 onwards. Rights to films made from 1950 to 1964 are administered by the National Film Archives. Rights to films made between 1964 and 1991 are owned by Ateliéry Bonton Zlín. The film database is not complete; the source of information was the publications published by Czech Film Center. With feature films, the criterion for inclusion was whether the film had cinema distribution in the Czech Republic. The documentary and short films featured in the catalogue (and thus the database) were included on the condition they premiered at a festival in the Czech Republic and upon agreement with the Institute of Documentary Film, International Documentary Film Festival Jihlava, and FAMU.
