Czech documentaries in Vancouver

Two new documentaries by Dan Krames will be screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival as well as the coproduction film Cooking History by Peter Kerekes.

Jan Klusák - axis temporum
Lovely black and white documentary captures Czech-Jewish composer Jan Klusák in the axis of time (axis temporum) between his 70th and 75th year with incomparable vitality, charm and wit.

Argippo Resurrected
Antonio Vivaldi's lost opera Argippo was originally composed for a Prague debut in 1730. Lost for centuries, the opera's score was discovered by young Czech conductor Ondrej Macek. Almost as remarkable as the discovery of this lost masterpiece was the process of remounting the work.
