First-ever Film Critics' Awards Bestowed in 2010
Film journalists, publicists and critics recognized the best cinematic achievements of the year with a new set of awards. The Czech Film Critics' Awards were bestowed on recipients at the Archa Theatre on Thursday, January 13, 2011. The new awards are aimed at highlighting the best movies of the year, new discoveries and cinematic achievements in the impartial eyes of professional film journalists.
The Czech Film Critics' Awards are organized by the Czech Film Chamber, which was inspired by similar foreign models where, in addition to national awards bestowed by industry professionals, there are also film critics' awards.
This year, journalists judged a total of 22 feature films and 13 documentary films that had been theatrically released. Votes were cast in 11 categories.
