Czech films and filmmakers in Venice, Toronto and Thessaloniki

Prague, 24 August 2011 - Following the successful participation of Czech films at major festivals such as the Berlin, Cannes and Karlovy Vary international film festivals, Czech cinematography is moving further down the festival trail. Tomáš Luňák's long-awaited animated film Alois Nebel was chosen for the Official Selection at the Venice Film Festival and will be continuing on to the Toronto International Film Festival, where it will meet up with the second Czech film in the Official Selection, Martin Šulík's Gypsy. In November first-time director Václav Kadrnka's Eighty Letters will be competing in the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
