Lidice and Surviving Life have a chance to get the European Film Awards
Historical drama Lidice by Petr Nikolaev and Surviving Life by world-renown director Jan Švankmajer that had its international premiere an Venice IFF 2010, were recommended by the European Film Academy.
The European Film Academy and EFA Productions has announced a list with 45 films from 32 countries which are recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2011. The selected films also cover a wide range of genres and themes from comedies about love, friendship, immigration and kidnapping to dramas about childhood, dysfunctional families and national traumas, from portraits of flawed leaders, surrealist animation and historical epics to an almost silent film in black & white.
The nominations then will be announced on the 5th November at the Seville European Film Festival in Spain.
The award ceremony of the 24th European Film Awards with the presentation of the winners will take place on December 3rd 2011 in Berlin. The ceremony will be broadcast on the website http://www.europeanfilmawards.eu.
