The representative collection of recent Czech short films produced in 2024 and 2025, selected by a jury of renowned film professionals, is ready to be explored by film industry players worldwide. Film curators, distributors, sales agents, broadcasters, and VOD representatives can find the best short films from the Czech Republic in one place. Films that have already premiered at big festivals like Rotterdam, Annecy, Cannes, and others, as well as those waiting for their international release. Experience fiction, documentary, animation, or experimental shorts among these 13 carefully curated films in our video library for film professionals upon registration.

The Czech Short Films 2025 collection promotes Czech short films and young talented filmmakers to international film industry professionals. It also offers industry players a shortcut to the best content from the country, helping them find suitable films efficiently. This year's selection boasts fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental shorts among the chosen titles. The selection has been carefully curated by our expert film industry jurors: Martin Horyna & Lenka Tyrpáková (Pragueshorts), Pavel Horáček (Anifilm), Alexandra Gabrižová (Midpoint Institute) and Vítězslav Chovanec (Czech Film Center). The collection has been initiated and produced by the Czech Film Center since 2010.

The latest collection of Czech Short Films includes 13 films, several of which were successful at foreign festivals last year and have since been part of the collection. These include Sundance-bound Hurikan by Jan Saska, Hello Summer by Martin Smatana and Veronika Zacharová, 3 MWh by Marie-Magdalena Kochová, which premiered at Rotterdam IFF last year, experimental film Time Metallurgist by Tomáš Rampula, animated documentary I Died in Irpin by Anastasiia Falileieva, Free the Chickens by Matúš Vizár, and Weeds by Polina Kazak, which premiered in La Cinef section at Cannes. These titles alone underscores the strong position of Czech animation in the short film production.

The new films in the collection include Stone of Destiny by Julie Černá, which will have its world premiere at the Berlinale in the prestigious Berlinale Shorts program. Gone by Piotr Jasiński, on the other hand, is yet to make its international premiere, as is Visiting Heaven Gate, whose director Trang Quỳnh Nghiêm already presented a feature film at the 2024 Berlinale. The experimental short ​​Medical Field Guide or Rules of Engagement with Native E-Girls by Andran Abramjan and Jan Hofman will be screened at the upcoming Rotterdam IFF and the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. An absurd comedy They Can Hear Your Smile by Michael Jiřinec is also at the beginning of its international festival journey.

All the films are available to watch upon confirmed registration and are intended for film professionals only. Registration is possible through the "Film Preview" button in the profile of each film on the webpage of Czech Short Films 2025. The collection is not open to the public, cannot be used directly for public screening or streaming, and is not available for private research.
