A story in three installments that takes place during a period when one century is about to turn into another. All three episodes are linked to a single time and place: the time is from Easter 1999 to New Year’s Eve, when the number one in the year is about to change into a two, and the place is the town of Telč and its historic main square. The theme of the film consists of individual life stories against the background of magical occurrences and events of that period. The film uses elements of fictional documentary, passionate melodrama and National Revivalist romance.
