Filip Jiřík, social worker and a student of sociology, decided to put himself into a position of a homeless person for seven days in a row to transfer the role of someone who loses everything by the day. For his experiment, he chose to stay in a city he had never been before, the northwest situated czech industrial city of Ústí nad Labem. From The Bottom is a film dealing with the conditions of belonging somewhere as nothing more or less than a human being, observing real human needs occur in contrast with the culture of Central European abundance. The majority of the film is a candid camera of the main protagonist.
