The first day of school. The kids are sharing their summer adventures. A well-traveled classmate mocks Rose and Dara for spending their vacation with their grandparents. But it turns out they had the greatest adventure of all. They tell stories about an old house full of modern inventions, surrounded by a garden hiding many surprises, and their grandmother’s dog Lajko, who has a doghouse in a Velorex and is loads of fun. When Lajko spooks their grandmother’s cows, the twins, Lajko, and their grandmother must bring them back, embarking on countless adventures. They travel to Iceland’s volcanic craters, narrowly escape hungry bears in the northern USA, and finally, they make it all the way to space. Thanks to their teamwork, everything turns out well, and they learn a lot along the way.
