In a series of letters to her young son, filmmaker and soldier Alisa Kovalenko documents her thoughts from the Ukrainian frontline. When Russia invades in 2022, she enlists to defend her country, writing to Théo about war, love, and difficult choices. Through her camera, we witness both quiet moments of reflection and the chaos of battle. Yet, much of a soldier’s time is spent waiting—when inner turmoil is most profound.
