Ukraine
Anna Kryvenko (1986, Ukraine) is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Prague and Kyiv. She is a graduate of the Centre for Audio-visual Studies at Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU, Prague). Before she studied theatre directing at KNUTKT (UKR) and alternative theatre directing at DAMU (CZ). Her films and performances were screened at Dok Leipziig, ZagrebDox, Visions du Reel Nyon, Fluidum Festival, Jihlava Documentary Film Festival etc. She participated in several group exhibitions, for example Subversive Tactics at Czech Center NY (USA). With her found-footage film Silently Like a Comet she won prize for the Best Experimental Act at FAMUFEST, Prague (CZ) and few others. Her film Listen to the Horizon won prize for the Best Czech Experimental Documentary, Jihlava IDFF (CZ). Her first feature documentary film My Unknown Soldier won Last Stop Trieste 2018 Postproduction Award, Special Mention at Zagreb Dox, The Special Prize of the Jury at IDFF CRONOGRAF and won Prize of Andrej Stankovič. Her newest feature work in progress project Sun of the Living Dead was presented at Marche Du Film by Cannes Film Festival 2020. Her newest short films Easier Than You Think won the Jury Award of Other Vision competition 2022 (PAF, Czech Republic).
