„Anton and Soňa‘s love is big as the world" was written on a bathroom wall in Jirkov. Then their daughter was born and everything changed. Antonie is a story of paternal love overcoming all doubts.
When Anton, an eternal slacker, gets fired from his job at the supermarket, Soňa decides to go to France to earn money for the family as a pole dancer. In a society where men don't usually take paternity leave, Anton becomes a subject of ridicule. The only support he gets is from the Roma family of his best friend Tibor. However, in taking care of little Antonie, he finds the motivation he's always lacked in life. He gets back on his feet by dealing weed to mothers on maternity leave. Their idyllic life is shattered when Anton's drunk stepfather cruelly alleges that Antonie isn't his. “Isn’t her skin tone a bit dark, isn’t she gipsy?”. Although Anton doesn't believe it, the seed of doubt is planted. He understands what truly matters in his life once he realizes all that he could lose.
