A sign language interpreter with daddy issues tries too hard to fix a relationship between her convicted client and his son by smoothing out their communication – but she ruins everything instead.

Lucie (33), a burned-out sign language interpreter, receives a commission at a prison: she's to interpret rather strained meetings between Zdeněk (42), convicted of grievous bodily harm, and his deaf son Matěj (15). Lucie herself has a damaged relationship with her father and this motivates her to help them. Gradually, she breaks down the emotional barriers between the father and the son and gives Zdeněk motivation to apply for parole. When Zdeněk is out, the metaphorical third wall between them collapses. It begins to be obvious that Matěj is in love with Lucie, but she starts to sleep with his father. This toxic love triangle exposes traumas that seemed to have been forgotten and leads to a serious conflict which takes its toll on Lucie's own family as well.
