My creative work eventually brought me back to myself, to a renewed understanding that I don‘t exist just as a mother.
ANIMUMS is an authentic collective project of mothers-animators, who are on their parental leave. In their original short films, directors Veronika P. Szemlová, Adéla Kukalová, Vendula Velísková, Anna Zača and Eliška Oz reflect a radical change in their lives, reveal the stunning world of their children trying to defend the need for their own creative work. At the same time, motherhood serves them as an inexhaustible well of inspiration, from which five stories, five angles of view, processed by various animation styles and techniques, emanate.
