Constance believes. A solid belief in her monastic vocation, in her artistic talent, but above all in the faith that Charlotte, her endeared mentor, an old Carmelite nun dying of exhaustion, can still be saved, and must still be saved. But her superiors seem to believe differently. When they ask Constance to take over Charlotte’s artistic duties and to paint her portrait, Constance starts an inevitable dive into self-doubt and defiance. As she begins to practice, to draw, to paint, she must face the dying body with blunt eyes for the first time, and confront this silence. Her grief will take a perilous path, and she will discover that the strongest acts of care are in fact the simplest. And a single gesture or gaze can easily shatter a world, or bring miracles.
